Below, we show you how you can upgrade your Raspberry Pi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.torbox.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_5234.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/www.torbox.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_5234-e1576357183890.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1032\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.torbox.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_5237.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/www.torbox.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/IMG_5237-e1576357032325.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1031\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Used Items<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.org\/products\/raspberry-pi-4-model-b\/\" target=\"_blank\">Raspberry Pi 4 Model B<\/a> with a <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.pimoroni.com\/products\/raspberry-pi-4-heatsink\" target=\"_blank\">Pimoroni&#8217;s chunky heatsink<\/a> in combination with a <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/shop.pimoroni.com\/products\/pibow-coupe-4\" target=\"_blank\">Pibow Coup\u00e9 4 case<\/a>. With that case, the Sixfab Shield\/HAT can be easily attached\/detached on\/from the 40 GPIO pin.<\/li><li><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sixfab.com\/product\/raspberry-pi-3g-4glte-base-shield-v2\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sixfab Raspberry Pi 3G-4G\/LTE Base Shield V2<\/a> &#8212; alternatively, there is a newer version of that Shield: the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sixfab.com\/product\/raspberry-pi-base-hat-3g-4g-lte-minipcie-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sixfab Raspberry Pi 3G\/4G&lt;E Base HAT<\/a>. According to the description, it has a better circuitry with the &#8220;HAT features&#8221; and includes programmable user LED and button. We will test it out in a few weeks and probably change our recommendation.<\/li><li><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sixfab.com\/product\/quectel-ec25-mini-pcle-4glte-module\/\" target=\"_blank\">Quectel EC25 Mini PCle 4G\/LTE Module<\/a> &#8211; This module supports GPRS\/EDGE\/UMTS\/LTE. Attention: You have to choose the correct regional option! This module requires a <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SIM_card#Formats\" target=\"_blank\">micro SIM card<\/a> without pin code (you can deactivate the pin code in a mobile phone).<\/li><li><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sixfab.com\/product\/lte-main-diversity-gnss-triple-port-u-fl-antenna-100mm\/\" target=\"_blank\">LTE Main &amp; Diversity &amp; GNSS Triple Port u.FL Antenna \u2013 100mm<\/a> &#8211; <strong>Attention<\/strong>: The Quectel EC25 Mini PCle 4G\/LTE Module doesn&#8217;t work without an antenna. Alternatively, the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/sixfab.com\/product\/lte-main-diversity-dual-u-fl-antenna-100mm\/\" target=\"_blank\">LTE Main &amp; Diversity Dual u.FL Antenna \u2013 100mm<\/a> should also work; however, we didn&#8217;t test it out.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Support software installation and configuration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to the Configuration &amp; Update submenu and choose the menu entry 10 to start the installation and configuration of the support software.<br>Attention: you have to have internet connectivity for that step. In other words: you have to install the support software <strong>before<\/strong> you need a cellular connection!<\/li><li>Choose the correct Sixfab Shiel\/Hat.<br>According to our recommendation above, it would be the &#8220;3G, 4G\/LTE Base Shield&#8221;.<\/li><li><strong>What is your carrier <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Access_Point_Name\" target=\"_blank\">APN<\/a>?<\/strong><br>You find the APN settings of most carriers <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.apnchanger.org\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>Does your carrier need username and password?<\/strong><br>Again, you find this information on most carriers <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.apnchanger.org\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>What is your device communication port?<\/strong><br>If you use the Sixfab Shield with the USB connector (as in our image above), you should choose <strong>ttyUSB3<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Do you want to activate auto connect \/ reconnect service at RPi boot up?<\/strong><br>We recommend choosing yes.<\/li><li>At the end of the installation script, pressing ENTER reboots the Raspberry Pi. If you want to avoid it, press CTRL-C.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can I securely route my data stream through the cellular connection?<\/strong><br>After assembling all the hardware, installing and configuring the support software correctly, choose entry 7 in the main menu to route all your encrypted data through the cellular connection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TorBox doesn&#8217;t support only internet access and client connections via WiFi (an additional USB WiFi adapter is necessary) or cable, it also supports internet access via a cellular network.
